Journal Scope
ES Materials and Manufacturing (ES Mater. Manuf.) is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed international journal incorporating research activities in all experimental and theoretical aspects of materials and manufacturing. The research topics include the most exciting and significant advances in all areas of materials research and their related manufacturing processes. Both fundamental and applied studies are encouraged, e.g., functional materials for energy-, optics-, mechanics-, magnetics- and electronics-related applications, biomaterials, structural materials, advanced manufacturing, chemical/physical processes during materials synthesis or manufacturing, and computational materials science. This journal specializes in cutting-edge research with the mission of providing sustained value in the evolving world of academic and industrial fields.
With the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), numerical simulation and analysis, deep learning, robotics, machine learning, etc., researchers can disclose and predict nature unprecedentedly in the field of materials and manufacturing. People will benefit from the reported engineered science results for their convenient, safe and reliable life. The ES Materials & Manufacturing aims to serve as an integrated platform to ensure that groundbreaking discoveries in advanced materials, devices, electronics, synthesis, and manufacturing related sciences and technologies reach the public, the shareholders, and society.

Special Issues
ES Materials and Manufacturing does not have regular special issues. However, the experts, especially the authors from the journal, can organize papers with the same topic to form a virtual special issue. It normally contains 10 to 15 papers, which are published in the last three years. This special issue will be displayed in the special issue area (link). All interested experts should prepare a proposal on the specific topic and selected papers. After receiving the proposal for the virtual special issue, Editor-in-Chief and selected Associate and Executive Editors will evaluate the proposal. A decision is expected within three weeks from the date of submission.

Processing Time
Depending on the manuscript type and number of submissions, the average manuscript turnaround time (the average time from submission to initial decision) will be around 10 days and the submission to acceptance ranges from 6-7 weeks.
After acceptance, the citable just-accepted manuscript with a DOI will be online in 48 hours and another one week to get the final corrected article online after getting the authors’ final proof. The print version will be available 2-3 weeks later after the online volume is issued.
There is no embargo period for the accepted manuscripts, and authors may place their articles in a repository of their choice immediately upon publication.
