Open Access and Open Research

Open Access and Open Research

Open Access and Open Research

Open access (OA) refers to the free, immediate, online availability of research outputs, such as journal articles or books, combined with the rights to use these outputs fully in the digital environment. OA content is open to all, with no access fees. Open research goes beyond the boundaries of publications to consider all research outputs – from data to code and even open peer review. Making all outputs of research as open and accessible as possible means that research can have a greater impact and help solve some of the world’s greatest challenges.

Open Access Policy

All articles published in Engineered Science (ES) Journals are made freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.

Authors of articles published in Engineered Science (ES) Journals are the copyright holders of their article and grant to any third party, in advance and in perpetuity, the right to use, reproduce, or disseminate your article.

Article processing charges (APC)

Authors who publish in Engineered Science Journals are required to pay an article processing charge (APC). The APC price will be determined from the date on which the article is accepted for publication. This APC is based on a current one-time promoted payment of $2000 per article (excluding VAT or local taxes). To support researchers who are unable to meet some or all of the costs associated with publishing Open Access (OA), Engineered Science Publisher operates a transparent waiver policy upon reasonable justification. A potential discount is possible for Low-income and Low-to-middle-income countries based on the corresponding author's listed affiliation with a justified request; the fee can be covered by the Engineered Science Society upon approval. Authors located in Low-to-middle-income countries are eligible for a discount on their Article Processing Charge (APC) ranging from 25% to 50%, depending on the country. Authors located in low-income countries are eligible for a 100% waiver. To see the category country by Group listing and the discount percentages, please click here. For details of each journal, please visit the journal website (the promotional rate could be applicable to new journals). For all the articles accepted for publication in Engineered Science Publisher, authors have to agree and submit the signed open access form (The form is available; download the Open Access form here).
