Abstract

The study presents findings from an extensive analysis of coal dust sourced from the raw coal of the Kulan deposits in Kazakhstan. Various research methodologies including X-ray fluorescence analysis, chromatographic analysis, NMR spectral analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and IR spectroscopy were employed. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA and DTA) was utilized to explore the influence of coal dispersion and temperature on mass loss, while granulometric sieving revealed the heterogeneous nature of the sample, with particle sizes ranging from 80-160 µm for technical analysis. It was observed that particles smaller than 100 µm constituted over 50% of the total sample mass, indicating potential variability in results depending on specific fractions present. High-temperature pyrolysis studies were conducted to examine the effect of coal dust dispersion on the pyrolysis process, revealing heterogeneous behavior depending on dispersion composition. Fine-dispersed coal dust fractions displayed heightened sensitivity during thermal decomposition, suggesting potential for additional liquid and solid petroleum product extraction through high-temperature pyrolysis.
