Nanotechnology has revolutionized various industries, and the textile industry is no exception. The integration of nanotechnology into textiles has opened up a plethora of opportunities to enhance the properties of fabrics. Nanotechnology has been employed to impart various desirable properties to textile fabric such as anti-bacterial, water-repellent, self-cleaning, wrinkle free, etc. This review paper aims to explore the applications of nanotechnology in the textile industry, and highlight its potential benefits in various textile processes such as coating, printing, dyeing, finishing, surface modifications, etc. Additionally, this paper delves into the role of different nanostructures like nanofibers, nanocomposites, and nanocoatings, etc. which have enabled the development of smart textiles, protective clothing, and other sustainable textile products. The challenges, future prospects, and biological implications of nanotechnology in textiles are also discussed, emphasizing the need for continued research and innovation in this field.
