Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policy
Engineered Science Publisher LLC is dedicated to maintaining transparency and reproducibility in all research data published in our journals, ensuring that the research community can understand, rely on, and build upon the published findings. We believe that all the data related to a manuscript should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). For more details, please refer to the description recommended by the GO FAIR.
Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to make the raw data, methodologies, metadata, analysis code, etc., used in their research available by depositing them in a recognized, publicly accessible data repository. The information regarding data availability in the repository can be included in the manuscript. When there are valid reasons such as privacy concerns, proprietary information, or ongoing research, authors are exempt from sharing data. In such cases, authors should provide a statement explaining the non-availability of data with references to privacy or confidentiality. For sensitive data, authors should follow the guidelines and ethical regulations of their respective institutions.
Reproducibility:
Authors must provide adequate detail in their methods section for the research community to replicate the work. Detailed and clear explanation describing experimental design, data collection protocols, instruments and settings, statistical analyses, and any software or tools used should be provided.
Open-source software facilitates reproducibility because others can inspect and run the code without licensing barriers. If proprietary software was used, instructions on the accessibility of the software and limitations or biases (if any) should be mentioned.
Authors are encouraged to provide supplementary files such as detailed protocols, additional figures, raw images or spectra, and extended data tables. It is highly recommended to make the Analysis scripts, models, and custom code publicly available (e.g., on GitHub or other open-access platforms).
Ethical and legal considerations
When publishing data involving humans, authors must follow ethical guidelines and legal requirements for privacy. Data should be anonymized or aggregated to prevent the identification of individuals.
Manipulation or selective reporting of data is prohibited. Engineered Science Publisher LLC follows The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines to investigate potential misconduct.
Post-Publication Data Sharing:
After publication, authors should continue to maintain access to the datasets and code associated with their article. Updates or corrections to data should be linked through the same repositories or through updated Data Availability Statements.
By adopting these policies, Engineered Science Publisher is committed to encouraging data sharing to ensure the transparency and reproducibility of the published data. We believe that these practices increase trust in the scientific process, encourage collaboration, and accelerate discoveries.
